Should I keep going?

The real question is not: “Should I keep going?”
The real question is: “Why am I still holding on?”

We are often taught that perseverance is a virtue.
That giving up means failing.

So we keep going.

We stay in a job that no longer fulfills us.
We pursue a project that has lost its meaning.
We hold on to certain habits simply because they helped us succeed up to this point.

But perseverance only has value when it serves a goal that still reflects who we are.

Continuing simply out of fear of change, guilt, or because we have already invested so much… is no longer perseverance.

Sometimes, it is simply standing still.

On the other hand, deciding to turn the page does not mean giving up.

It means recognizing that one chapter has come to an end and that it is time to make room for the next one.

Leaders, managers and people who continue to grow are not distinguished solely by their ability to persevere.

They also know when to stop, step back and ask themselves the right questions:

Is what I am pursuing today still aligned with the person I have become?

That simple question can change the course of a life.

Because great decisions are not born from impulse.

They are born from awareness.

And sometimes, the best decision is not to try harder…

It is to have the courage to change direction.

I have the privilege of supporting women, men, managers and executives through these moments of reflection — when the most important decisions are not always about persevering, but about finding a direction that is fully aligned with their values, aspirations and potential.
